AUSTRALIA

1922 4d ultramarine King George V Head, single watermark, with the variety ‘white flaw on the King’s temple [late state]’ [sheet position = 1L40], used – no thins, tears or bends. Has a Starling certificate.

This flaw developed very late in the life of the Cooke plates, the late state of the variety has the white flaw at it largest size and without any spots of colour within the void.
